Youngsters get their chance to swing like Tiger

Aspiring young golfers, keen to emulate the success of Tiger Woods, get their chance to take up the sport with the launch of the exciting new YMG Young Master Golf junior golf instruction programme at the Mark Janes Golf Academy @ the Chessington Golf Centre in Surrey.

Hosted by club PGA Golf Professional Mark Janes, the unique new programme offers boys and girls between the ages of 6- and 16-years the most comprehensive introduction to golf the game has ever seen, and is open to everyone, as Mark explains:

"The success of players like Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia has made golf extremely popular with young people," says Mark, "but the problem for most has been how to get started in the game."

"Now for the first time, an exciting junior golf programme is available to young people, which not only makes it easy for them to start playing golf, but also helps them to progress to a level where they can compete with other youngsters, or simply enjoy playing a healthy, relaxing sport for the rest of their lives."

Youngsters who want to take part in the YMG programme don't need to be a member of a golf course, or even own a golf club, as all equipment needed to get started can be provided by the YMG Golf Professional. Elsewhere in the country, YMG has already proved a resounding success, encouraging boys and girls of all ages to take up and continue playing the game.

"The first part of the course - the Cadets programme - comprises eight weekly one-hour sessions which will give the girls and boys a thorough introduction to the game and show them how they can progress through to the Bronze, Silver, Gold and ultimately Masters levels," explains Mark Janes. "Everyone who enrols in the programme gets their own Young Masters Golf member's folder, and throughout the course we have lots of exciting activities, fun challenges and mini-competitions to ensure that the whole golfing experience is about having a good time playing sport."

Once you've signed up, you'll receive your superb YMG course folder, along with your unique Membership number and you can prepare yourself for:

• Your first YMG Young Masters Golf junior golf instruction course - the Cadets course - which will run for 8 sessions of one hour.
• Each subsequent level you take part in will also comprise 8 sessions of one hour.
• There are currently 5 levels of achievement - The Cadets, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Masters levels.
• You will be set 7 different challenges during each course and level.
• Pass 5 challenges on each level and you will be able to move to the next stage.
• You will receive certificates of your achievements.
