Mark started his professional golfing career at the Nevill Golf Club and soon built a fine reputation as a player on the amateur circuit, representing both Club and County. Mark turned professional and stayed at the Nevill to do his training and subsequently qualified as a PGA Golf Professional. Mark started a successful Junior Golf Academy at the Nevill and having decided to move on to further his career with David Leadbetter Golf Academies, was given the prestige of honorary membership of the Nevill, one of only a handful in the clubs 100 year history.

Having always been fascinated with the mechanics of the golf swing and having spent countless hours on end researching and tinkering with his swing, it was inevitable that teaching would become the focus of Mark's attention.

Mark's passion for learning about the game and his desire to share that knowledge with others, ultimately led him to establish the Mark Janes Golf Academy, initially at the Cuddington Golf Club in Surrey before moving to the present site at Chessington. Having now forged a partnership with Pure Sports Medince in London and hosting reseidential breaks at Dale Hill in Sussex - business and the MJGA reputation is going from strength to strength.

Perhaps one of the greatest assets to Marks teaching is his confident and relaxed personality combined with excellent personal communication skills. He has always believed that most golfers are confused and don't know enough about the individual nature of what is going on in their golf game.  All the technical theories in the world mean nothing if the student is alienated or confused. The instruction has to be relevant to their game. These are the beliefs that Mark instils in his staff and are core to the academy.

One of Mark's major beliefs is to model the very best in his profession and to continue that process to constantly to develop his skills as an instructor. Working under the watchful eye of David Leadbetter at his home club in Lake Nona, Florida was a perfect situation to do just this and the experience gained was invaluable. Marks ongoing development also includes attending seminars all over the world.

He has extensive overseas experience providing instruction in Florida, Spain, Portugal, Germany and South Africa, for individuals and corporate clients.
